metaphactory 4.2 lowers the barrier for Knowledge Graph application building with interactive wizards

We're delighted to announce the release of metaphactory 4.2 which makes building Knowledge Graph applications easier than ever through interactive, no-code wizards for setting up and configuring search and authoring interfaces that cater to specific end-user information needs.

Interactive wizards for bootstraping Knowledge Graph Applications

The new wizards introduced in version 4.2 are one of the pillars of metaphactory's low-code approach for building knowledge graph applications. They allow application engineers to focus entirely on translating end-user information needs into intuitive, model-driven interfaces without getting caught up in the technical details of the semantic technologies stack.

Using the wizards application engineers identify and visually select classes, relations and attributes from the ontology that are required to capture the end-users’ information intent. The low-code HTML5 component configuration generated through the wizards can then be inserted into any application page. To incrementally advance the end-user application in an agile spirit, the configurations can be further tailored through metaphactory’s low-code approach, i.e., by refining the component logic through parameters, or the design and layout through HTML and CSS to meet the desired look-and-feel.

Other highlights in metaphactory 4.2

  • New Semantic Clipboard which is available as an out-of-the-box component and allows end users to create personalized information collections where they store and organize named sets of knowledge graph items for reuse. For example, individual items can be drag-and-dropped into searches or visual graphs for reuse.
  • Improved Semantic Forms which are now fully model-driven and support automated generation of markup.
  • Improved Keyword-type Search component to support inline disambiguation and allow end users to access search results directly from the search bar.
  • Improved SKOS Vocabulary Management to support term deprecation, as well as batch creation and import of vocabulary terms from string lists.
  • New "Getting Started" tutorial which guides end users through the initial steps of working with metaphactory and introduces them to basic operations such as loading data, searching a dataset, and exploring a dataset.
  • Various improvements to the ontology editing capabilities (e.g., performance, access to metadata and version information), the semantic table (e.g., selectable table, row numbers), simplified search framework configuration (e.g., facets for literals, inverse relations).
