About the webinar

Ontop began as a research project at the Free University of Bolzano-Bozen, addressing a specific challenge: enabling organizations to query relational databases through an ontological lens without moving, copying, or transforming the underlying data. Today, Ontop supports virtual knowledge graph applications across research institutions, enterprise data teams, and commercial systems worldwide. The open-source project continues to be maintained by its core team, with contributions and input from the wider community.

The purpose of this webinar is to create space for the Ontop community to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. Where suitable speakers are confirmed, Ontop users will present their own projects, use cases, and lessons learned. Following the event, a written summary of the main themes, questions, and next steps will be published within one to two weeks.

What we'll cover

  • How Ontop is being used in practice
  • Community use cases and implementation experiences
  • Practical insights, challenges, and best practices
  • Questions and topics raised by the community
  • What users need from Ontop going forward
