metaphactory 4.1 extends knowledge modeling capabilities to include support for managing vocabularies

We're happy to announce the release of metaphactory 4.1 which further bridges the gap between IT and business by providing essential tools for knowledge modeling and model-driven decision making.

SKOS Vocabulary Management

metaphactory 4.1 introduces support for SKOS vocabulary management and extends the platform’s Knowledge Graph Asset management capabilities by providing a tie-in between ontologies and vocabularies. Knowledge Graph experts and business users benefit from support creating and editing of SKOS vocabularies to capture business-relevant terms. They also benefit from enhanced vocabulary management support, such as cataloging, versioning, and metadata editing capabilities. These new features help in modeling domain-specific data in terms that business users understand and can use for analysis, and in answering critical business questions.


Knowledge Graphs and metadata-driven data management are two critical components of data fabric design. Knowledge Graphs and domain-specific taxonomies and ontologies can help tackle the disconnect between business teams (as use case owners) and IT (as important influencers and use case implementations partners) by fitting business data into a model optimized for the enterprise’s infrastructure while at the same time making data/knowledge usable and intuitive for business users. [1] metaphactory supports Knowledge Graph Asset Management as an integrated process, where all Knowledge Graph-related assets - ontologies, vocabularies, datasets, mappings, queries, rules and UI templates - and their relations are treated and managed within the Knowledge Graph itself.

  • Model-driven Forms - Model-driven and enhanced configuration of authoring forms will significantly lower the effort and cost for application engineers to empower business users in the creation and management of instance data.
  • Further Enhancements to Ontology Visualization and Editing - With these enhancements, knowledge graph engineers and domain experts benefit from better layouting and improved resilience and performance for larger ontologies. This provides more flexibility when, for example, deleting standalone elements in an ontology.
