metaphacts cited as one of the vendors under Ontology Tools and Libraries
In this report Building Knowledge Graphs1 published on July 7, 2022, Gartner® analyst Sumit Pal states that "knowledge graphs are a dynamic, scalable solution that address enterprise data management requirements. They serve as a hub for data, metadata and content and underlie a data fabric." The report also recognizes the fact that implementing a knowledge graph can be a complex process and "barriers to entry are high and often daunting."
In the report, Sumit Pal reiterates how important continuous, cross-functional collaboration is in the creation of a knowledge graph: "A knowledge graph is not a one-off engineering project. Building a KG requires collaboration between functional domain experts, data engineers, data modelers and key sponsors."
metaphactory - our knowledge democratization platform - is included in the report in the list of "Ontology Tools and Libraries".
metaphactory's visual ontology editor is based on a visual language and delivers a user-friendly environment for ontology exploration, visualization, editing and documentation. The visual language translates to core elements of OWL and SHACL and results in an ontology based on open modeling and validation language W3C standards.
The key benefit of metaphactory's visual ontology editor is that it allows not only ontologists and data modelers but also domain experts (SMEs) and business users to contribute to building the domain model that describes the concepts and relations in the data stored in the knowledge graph.
In fact, metaphactory goes one step further and provides an end-to-end semantic knowledge modeling framework for capturing explicit, domain-specific knowledge across functional and use case boundaries. This allows customers to create truly interconnected knowledge graphs by supporting the management of ontologies, vocabularies, and dataset descriptions together with actual instance data.
Additionally, metaphactory comes with an out-of-the box knowledge discovery, exploration, search, and querying interface. It also supports the implementation of additional use-case specific, end-user interfaces for knowledge creation and consumption using a low-code approach and a rich set of model-driven (ontology-driven) components.
