CPQ Tooling
Providing prospective customers with tailored offers that fit their needs, cater to their budget, and are delivered in a timely manner is critical to business success.
A German enegry company leveraged metaphactory to build an innovative solution that supports sales employees in configuring, pricing, and quoting (CPQ) complex products tailored to meet specific customer requirements.
The solution is driven by a knowledge graph foundation, where knowledge that was previously hidden in sales experts' minds or hard-coded within proprietary tools becomes explicitly available and accessible to all relevant stakeholders - from sales and pre-sales employees to product managers and service engineers. With this solution, users go from having to spend hours manually reviewing available options and tediously assembling quotes, to a streamlined process that delivers an appropriate quote within seconds and allows them to spend more time on value-adding tasks.

Domain modeling in the energy sector
This German energy company leveraged metaphactory and its visual ontology modeling capabilities to build a domain modeling application for the energy sector. The domain modeling application can be used to describe concepts, relations and attributes relevant in this sector, with the ultimate goal of powering model-driven applications for, e.g., configuration management, predictive maintenance, manufacturing planning, etc.
Master data management at BKW
BKW, a Swiss power production and distribution utility, uses metaphactory to power a knowledge graph-driven master data management solution. This central platform streamlines data from multiple sources and provides end users with a comprehensive view of all data related to its smart meter operations.
The solution addresses previous challenges with data bottlenecks in receiving and distributing data to different systems, making this information transparent to all relevant stakeholders. Their operations team can now review the statuses of smart meters and detect any issues or discrepancies, as well as monitor usage, streamline invoicing processes, and reduce supply downtime. Having a centralized platform users can interact with independently relieves the load on the IT team and eliminates the need for unreliable data storage methods such as spreadsheets and paper documents.
The project arose from a need to address pressing smart meter chokepoints and facilitated the scaling of their smart meter operations across the country.
