It does not only enable the standardization and harmonization of the existing information landscape by reducing redundancies, but it also helps inform and accelerate business decisions by providing users with meaningful context to individual information points and details on how to access, stream or reuse data.

  An automotive company’s Enterprise Information Architecture (EIA), established to transform the organization into a data-driven enterprise, was struggling to deliver the expected benefits of transparency over their information landscape, information architecture and data journeys, and failing to connect business needs to IT changes.

   

  In this session, we will explore how the implementation of a Business Object & Metadata Management Solution enabled the customer to improve transparency across business and IT, simplified data discovery and automated IT artefact generation. Ultimately, this helped the organization transition from mere systems documentation to an enterprise-wide semantic layer, weaving together business glossaries, data catalogs, governance risk and compliance, configuration and service management, enterprise architecture repository, API and streaming service publishing and much more! We will dive into how all stakeholders – from management and business users to data owners, data stewards and IT – can now participate in a collaborative process and will discuss how this approach was scaled to an enterprise-wide practice.
